In 2016, the Jakarta Provincial Government allocated Rp 2.5 trillion for the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) program. The number of KJP recipients in 2016 reached 692,002 students. Both the budget and the number of KJP recipients have increased annually.
KJP funds are disbursed monthly at Rp 210,000 per student per month for elementary school (SD) and Rp 260,000 per student for junior high school (SMP). For senior high school (SMA/SMK) students, the amount is Rp 390,000 per student. In addition, there is a periodic disbursement at the beginning of the school year. Students participating in the Learning Activity Program (PKM), such as Paket A, Paket B, and Paket C programs, receive Rp 210,000 for all education levels.
Furthermore, students attending private schools receive tuition fee assistance of Rp 130,000 per student per month for elementary school and Rp 170,000 for junior high school. For senior high school students, it's Rp 275,000, and for vocational high school (SMK) students, it's Rp 240,000 per student per month.
