Current Indonesian Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (13/11/2024) at 14.10 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased and 5 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, Indian mackerel, red chilies, broiler chicken, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, fine iodized salt, curly red chilies, pure beef, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp490 (1.18%) to Rp42,170 per kg. Farmer-level corn saw the largest price decrease, down by Rp60 (1.0%) to Rp5,920 per kg.
