Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Sugar, Onion, and Oil Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (21/6/2024) at 12.09 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include garlic bulbs, iodized fine salt, red chilies, farmer-level corn, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as broiler chicken meat, chicken eggs, shallots, bulk cooking oil, and red chilies decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp6,490 (18.48%) to Rp41,610 per kg. Red chilies saw the sharpest price drop, down by Rp8,830 (15.84%) to Rp46,900 per kg.

6. Shallots: Rp41,420 per kg (down 3.11%)
7. Garlic Bulbs: Rp40,300 per kg (up 1.0%)
8. Milkfish: Rp35,000 per kg (up 5.26%)
9. Broiler Chicken: Rp34,890 per kg (down 0.17%)
