Hartono Brothers Remain at the Top of Indonesia's Richest List According to Forbes

Robert Budi Hartono and Michael Hartono remain at the top of the list of Indonesia's richest people according to *Forbes Indonesia's 50 Richest*. As of December 15, 2021, their combined wealth is recorded at US$ 42.6 billion, or approximately Rp 610.62 trillion (using an exchange rate of US$1 = Rp 14,334).

The brothers' majority wealth stems from investments in Bank Central Asia (BCA). However, the roots of the Hartono family's fortune originate from the Djarum cigarette business, founded by their father, Oei Wie Gwan.

Second place is occupied by the Widjaja family, with a net worth of US$ 9.7 billion. This family inherited the business empire of Eka Tjipta Widjaja, known as the founder of Sinar Mas Group, operating in paper, real estate, finance, agribusiness, and telecommunications.

Following in third place is Anthoni Salim, with a recorded net worth of US$ 8.5 billion. He heads the Salim Group, with investments in banking, food, and telecommunications. He also serves as CEO of Indofood, known as one of the world's largest instant noodle manufacturers.
