Agriculture Sector Was the Biggest Economic Pillar of Central Lombok in 2021

The 2022 Mandalika MotoGP motorcycle racing event took place from March 18-20, 2022, in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK) located in Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. As is known, the largest sector of the regency's economy is agriculture.

The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reports that the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of agriculture at current prices (ADHB) in West Lombok reached Rp4.63 trillion in 2021 (*provisional figure*).

This value constitutes 26.18% of the total GRDP of Central Lombok, which was Rp17.69 trillion last year. This contribution is the largest compared to the other 16 sectors. This means that the agricultural sector remained the mainstay of West Lombok's economy in 2021.

The GRDP of the construction sector reached Rp3.13 trillion last year. This contributed 17.67% to West Lombok's economy.

The next largest GRDP sector was wholesale and retail trade, with a value of Rp2.11 trillion (11.95%). This was followed by the transportation sector with a GRDP of Rp1.53 trillion (8.67%).

Meanwhile, the GRDP of the electricity supply sector was the smallest, with a value of only Rp13.98 billion (0.08%). Following this was the water supply sector with a GRDP of Rp19.35 billion (0.11%).
