Central Java's Economy Grew 5.66% YoY in Q2 2022, Exceeding National Growth

Central Java's economic growth recorded positive growth and outperformed the national figure in the second quarter of 2022 year-on-year (yoy).

Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Central Java's economy grew by 5.66% (yoy). Meanwhile, national economic growth was 5.44% (yoy).

Growth occurred in almost all expenditure components. The highest growth occurred in the Export of Goods and Services component (including inter-regional exports), which grew by 10.14%.

This was followed by the Household Consumption Expenditure (PK-RT) component at 6.14%, and the Non-Profit Institution Serving Households Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) component at 5.95%.

On the other hand, the Government Consumption Expenditure (PKP) component contracted by -3.55% and the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) component by -0.66%.

Meanwhile, business sectors experiencing significant growth include Transportation and Warehousing at 89.34%, Other Services at 18.7%, and Accommodation and Food and Beverage at 18.44%.

Meanwhile, the three business sectors that experienced contraction were the Construction sector, which contracted by -1.46%, Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security -3.39%, and Mining and Quarrying -7.16%.

Central Java's economy in the second quarter of 2022, based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at Constant Prices (ADHK), was recorded at Rp261.4 trillion. Meanwhile, Central Java's economy based on Current Prices (ADHB) was Rp385.12 trillion.
