Latest Indonesian Food Prices: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Saturday (7/12/2024) at 12:19 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged simple cooking oil, bulk wheat flour, granulated sugar, pure beef, and shallots.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, broiler chicken, and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp150 (1.31%) to Rp11,640 per kg. Farmer-level corn saw the sharpest price drop, down by Rp100 (1.66%) to Rp5,930 per kg.
