Indonesia's Food Prices Thursday (August 1st): Oil Prices Up, Onion Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Thursday (1/8/2024) at 2:52 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 10 commodities increased in price and 8 decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), kembung fish, simple packaged cooking oil, dry soybean (import), and tongkol fish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as farmer-level corn, shallots, garlic bulbs, milkfish, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Simple packaged cooking oil saw the highest price increase of Rp110 (0.61%) to Rp18,070 per liter. Milkfish experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp540 (1.63%) to Rp32,580 per kg.
