Food Prices Thursday (Aug 7) West Sumatra Region: Rice, Red Chili, and Cayenne Pepper Prices Decline

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (Aug 7, 2025) at 08.37 AM WIB, out of 24 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include premium rice, broiler chicken meat, mackerel, pure beef, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, milkfish, large red chili, cayenne pepper, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna saw the highest increase of Rp4,712 (11.62%) to Rp45,273 per kg. Meanwhile, milkfish prices saw the deepest decrease of Rp40,000 (100.0%) to Rp0 per kg.

Below is the complete list of prices for 24 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on August 7, 2025 at 08.37 AM WIB.

2. Pure Beef: Rp142,500 per kg (up 0.34%)
3. Mackerel: Rp57,000 per kg (up 3.3%)

5. Skipjack Tuna: Rp45,273 per kg (up 11.62%)
6. Curly Red Chili: Rp40,750 per kg (down 5.07%)
7. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp38,642 per kg (up 8.08%)
8. Garlic Bulb: Rp38,250 per kg (up 8.01%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp29,233 per kg (up 2.24%)
10. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp19,050 per liter (down 3.68%)
11. Consumption Sugar: Rp18,650 per kg (up 0.99%)
12. Minyakita: Rp17,182 per liter (down 1.46%)
13. Premium Rice: Rp16,818 per kg (up 1.1%)
