East Java, the Province with the Highest Percentage of Regional Budget Allocation for the Environment

East Java has the highest percentage of Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) allocation for the environment. The percentage of environmental allocation reached 11.58% in 2021, a significant increase from 0.16% in 2020.

Lampung Province ranks second with an APBD allocation for the environment reaching 9.48% in 2021. Similar to East Java, this allocation increased significantly from 0.16% in 2020.

Despite having the largest budget allocation (Rp 4.07 trillion), DKI Jakarta's APBD allocation for the environment was only 5.57%. This percentage decreased from 7.56% in 2020.

Maluku Province had the lowest APBD allocation for the environment; it allocated nothing at all.

Overall, APBD allocation for the environment in Indonesia is relatively low, with only East Java allocating more than 10%. Meanwhile, 22 provinces recorded allocations below 1%.
