Today's Food Prices in West Java: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Java today are observed to be lower compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (18/8/2024) at 13.25 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 8 commodities increased in price and 13 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, SPHP rice, fine iodized salt, bulk cooking oil, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as red chilies, broiler chicken eggs, medium rice, granulated sugar, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Fine iodized salt saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp190 (1.86%) to Rp10,410 per kg. Milkfish prices saw the steepest decrease, dropping Rp2,850 (7.63%) to Rp34,490 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in West Java according to Bapanas on August 18, 2024, at 13.25 WIB.

7. Broiler Chicken: Rp35,500 per kg (down 0.36%)
8. Milkfish: Rp34,490 per kg (down 7.63%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp27,050 per kg (down 0.07%)
