Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Rise, Salt Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (10/8/2024) at 16.13 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased and 8 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include medium-grain rice, curly red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), SPHP rice, and garlic bulbs.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, skipjack tuna, iodized fine salt, bulk wheat flour, and dry soybean seeds (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chilies saw the highest price increase of Rp10,450 (25.59%) to Rp51,280 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the largest price decrease of Rp1,270 (3.43%) to Rp35,760 per kg.
