Today's Food Prices in South Sumatra: Rice, Beef, and Egg Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (24/5/2024) at 15.05 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, shallots, red onions, medium-grain rice, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, red chilies, pure beef, dry soybeans (import), and fine iodized salt decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Mackerel prices surged the highest by Rp830 (2.67%) to Rp31,860 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chili peppers decreased the least by Rp2,380 (5.66%) to Rp39,700 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 20 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas as of May 24, 2024, at 15.05 WIB.

6. Broiler Chicken: Rp35,020 per kg (down 0.23%)
7. Mackerel: Rp31,860 per kg (up 2.67%)
8. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,430 per kg (down 0.52%)
9. Skipjack Tuna: Rp27,370 per kg (up 1.6%)
