Current Food Prices in East Java: Rice, Chili, and Salt Prices Drop

The prices of several food commodities in East Java today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (23/8/2024) at 14.42 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include shallots, farmer-level corn, skipjack tuna, mackerel, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, bulk wheat flour, red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Shallots saw the highest price increase of Rp350 (1.82%), reaching Rp19,590 per kg. Meanwhile, red chilies experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp2,610 (5.69%), reaching Rp43,270 per kg.
