Indonesia's Monthly Inflation Rises to 0.37% in November 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported a 0.37% month-on-month (m-o-m) inflation rate in November 2021, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.5. This inflation rate is higher than the previous month's 0.12% (m-o-m).

Last month's inflation was caused by price increases in almost all expenditure groups. The highest inflation rate came from the food, beverages, and tobacco expenditure group at 0.84% (m-o-m).

This was followed by the transportation expenditure group at 0.51% (m-o-m), and then the personal care and other services expenditure group at 0.37% (m-o-m).

Household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance experienced inflation of 0.35% (m-o-m). Following this, inflation from food and beverage providers or restaurants was 0.22% (m-o-m).

BPS also stated that 84 cities experienced inflation and 6 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sintang at 2.01% (m-o-m) with a CPI of 113.8. The lowest inflation occurred in Bima and Pontianak at 0.02% (m-o-m) each, with a CPI of 105.89 in Bima and 107.06 in Pontianak.

Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu at 0.53% (m-o-m) with a CPI of 107.95. The lowest deflation occurred in Tual at 0.16% (m-o-m) with a CPI of 108.77.
