Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stated that election spending peaked in January and February this year because the voting day was on February 14, 2024.

Furthermore, Rp1.9 trillion was allocated to 14 ministries/institutions (K/L) involved in the election implementation.

These funds were used for election security by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the fulfillment of special needs, the implementation of various election stages such as information transparency, handling complaints, and various necessities for election administration.

In total, the government allocated Rp71.3 trillion for the 2022-2024 election budget. The realization in 2022 and 2023 was recorded at Rp3.1 trillion and Rp29.9 trillion, respectively.
