Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili, Onion, and Sugar Prices Drop

The price of several food commodities in West Sumatra today is observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (12/1/2025) at 08.44 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include premium rice, chicken eggs, skipjack tuna, curly red chilies, and broiler chicken.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), red chilies, simple packaged cooking oil, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna experienced the highest price increase of Rp4,810 (13.14%) to Rp41,410 per kg. Meanwhile, bulk wheat flour experienced the largest price decrease of Rp640 (6.95%) to Rp8,570 per kg.
