Since the beginning of 2022, many countries have implemented export restrictions on food commodities, through both quota policies and total bans.
Indonesia itself temporarily banned the export of palm oil and its derivative products from April 28 to May 22, 2022.
These restrictive policies emerged alongside disruptions to the supply chain and fears of a food crisis due to various factors, including bad weather and the Russia-Ukraine war.
