Residents of Central Halmahera Regency spend Rp6,640.65 per capita per week on cooking oil and coconut.

The average expenditure of residents in Central Halmahera Regency for purchasing oil and coconut in 2023 was Rp6,640.65 per capita per week. This figure increased compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp5,144.09 per capita per week.

Per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, divided by the number of household members. This expenditure can be categorized into two parts: food and non-food needs.

Expenditure on food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food expenditure is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

The four largest expenditure items for oil and coconut in Central Halmahera Regency, in descending order, are: sunflower oil (Rp3,795.27 per capita per week), coconut oil (Rp2,069 per capita per week), coconut (excluding instant coconut milk) (Rp757.3 per capita per week), and the lowest expenditure is for other oils and coconuts (Rp19.08 per capita per week).

According to a publication by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp2.05 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 72.52% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.19 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest expenditure for purchasing oil and coconut was in Intan Jaya Regency, and the lowest was in Muna Regency. Central Halmahera Regency ranked 30th in terms of expenditure on oil and coconut. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing oil and coconut is Rp257.5 per capita per week.
