By October 2017, the budget deficit reached Rp 298.9 trillion, or 2.2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This deficit was lower than the target set in the 2017 Revised State Budget (APBN-P) of Rp 397.2 trillion, or 2.92 percent of GDP.
Realized state expenditure (January-October) 2017 reached Rp 1,537.1 trillion, or 72.1 percent of the 2017 APBN-P target of Rp 2,133.29 trillion. Meanwhile, state revenue reached only Rp 1,238.2 trillion, or 71.32 percent of the targeted Rp 1,726.32 trillion. As a result, the 2017 budget experienced a deficit of Rp 298.9 trillion by October.
State revenue consisted of tax and customs revenue of Rp 991.2 trillion, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of Rp 244.3 trillion, and grants of Rp 2.7 trillion. State expenditure consisted of Ministry/Agency (K/L) spending of Rp 506.8 trillion, non-K/L spending of Rp 391.8 trillion, transfers to regions of Rp 591.1 trillion, and regional funds of Rp 47.5 trillion. Deficit financing had reached Rp 382.5 trillion.
