How much did the Indonesian capital relocation cost?

The estimated cost of relocating the capital city to East Kalimantan is Rp 466 trillion. The State Budget (APBN) is planned to cover only 19.2% of this amount. The remainder will be funded through Government and Business Partnerships (KPBU) and private investment. The largest component of the financing is in supporting functions, reaching Rp 233.7 trillion or 50.17% of the total cost.

Supporting functions include multi-story and single-story housing for civil servants, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), financed by the APBN, KPBU schemes, and private sector (through cooperation utilization schemes). In addition, there are educational facilities from elementary schools (SD) to higher education and healthcare facilities, financed by KPBU schemes and the private sector. The construction of correctional facilities is also funded through KPBU schemes.

Secondly, the budget for supporting functions, consisting of infrastructure and open green spaces, totals Rp 169.2 trillion and Rp 4 trillion respectively. Infrastructure is financed through KPBU schemes, while open green spaces are financed by the APBN.

The main functions aim to build the presidential palace, strategic TNI/Polri buildings, and legislative, executive, and judicial buildings, costing up to Rp 51.1 trillion. All building construction is financed through KPBU schemes, except for the presidential palace and strategic TNI/Polri buildings, which are financed by the APBN. Land acquisition requires Rp 8 trillion, financed by the APBN.
