Indonesia's Food Prices Thursday (29/8): Salt Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Thursday (29/8/2024) at 12:31 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 7 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, dry soybean (import), curly red chilies, iodized fine salt, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, broiler chicken, milkfish, shallots, and mackerel decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of livestock-level corn saw the highest increase, up by Rp70 (1.17%) to Rp6,060 per kg. The price of milkfish saw the sharpest decrease, down by Rp670 (2.0%) to Rp32,880 per kg.
