Rupiah Exchange Rate Strengthens to Rp 15,595 per US Dollar (Monday, October 24, 2022)

As of 10:45 WIB this morning, the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 15,595 per US dollar on Monday, October 24, 2022. This represents a 0.24% strengthening compared to the previous day's closing rate of Rp 15,633 per US dollar. Today's trading is expected to range between 15,575 and 15,632.5.

According to investing.com, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 1.09% in the past week. Compared to 30 days ago, the Rupiah in the spot market has weakened by 4.29%.

However, over the past year, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually strengthened. The previous highest record in the last year reached Rp 15,630 per US dollar.

For the period January-October 2022, the Rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has shown a weakening trend, moving 4.14% compared to the level of Rp 14,975 per US dollar a month ago.

The current Rupiah exchange rate follows the trend of most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean Won weakened by 10.85 points (+0.76%) to KRW 1,439.98 per US dollar. The Japanese Yen weakened by 1.26 points (+0.86%), the Singapore Dollar weakened by 0.01 points (+0.42%), the Euro weakened (+0.33%), and the Chinese Yuan weakened by 0.04 points (+0.61%).
