Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chicken Prices Up, Salt Prices Down (Thursday, January 18, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (18/1/2024) at 14:36 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 12 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, pure beef, bulk cooking oil, broiler chicken, and medium-grain rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, dry soybeans (import), chicken eggs, fine iodized salt, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken prices increased the most by Rp380 (1.23%) to Rp31,160 per kg. The price of milkfish decreased the most by Rp910 (2.84%) to Rp31,100 per kg.
