Kerinci Regency's 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) reached Rp13.41 trillion. This represents a 5.73% growth compared to the previous year's Rp12.23 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020, the region's economic growth is significantly higher. Post-COVID growth at the end of 2020 was recorded at 3.81%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 264,140, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp52,550,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 213th.
Of the 17 sectors driving the regency's economy, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are the leading sectors.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in Kerinci Regency are the mainstay sectors, contributing the largest share to the 2023 GRDP with a value of Rp6.47 trillion. This represents a 3.64% growth compared to the previous year's Rp5.99 trillion.
The second largest contributor to Kerinci Regency's GRDP is the construction sector, which grew by 17.98% to Rp1.66 trillion. The wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector is third, growing by 4.31% to Rp1.39 trillion.
Rounding out the top five is the public administration, defense, and compulsory social security sector, with a value of Rp677.76 billion. According to BPS, this sector grew by 2.37% over the past year from a previous achievement of Rp654.33 billion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the most to GRDP growth in Kerinci Regency is agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, with a contribution of 46.04%. Other sectors in the top five include construction, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, information and communication, and public administration, defense, and compulsory social security.
Sectors with the smallest distribution include financial and insurance services, accommodation and food services, water supply, waste management, waste and recycling, corporate services, and electricity and gas supply.
