The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports that the transportation expenditure group recorded the highest inflation compared to other expenditure groups. Inflation in this sector reached 15.45% in November 2022 compared to November 2021 (year on year/yoy).

Thus, public transportation expenditure increased by 15.45% in the last year. This figure is above the national inflation rate of 5.42% (yoy).

The government's increase in fuel prices (BBM) at the beginning of September 2022 contributed to the high inflation rate in the transportation expenditure group.

Other expenditure groups that recorded the highest annual inflation were food, beverages, and tobacco at 5.87% (yoy); personal care at 5.48% (yoy); household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance at 4.96% (yoy); food and beverage services/restaurants at 4.59% (yoy).

Following these were the expenditure groups of housing, water, electricity, and household fuel at 3.24% (yoy); health at 2.9% (yoy); recreation, sports, and culture at 2.9% (yoy); education at 2.76% (yoy); and clothing and footwear at 1.53% (yoy).

Meanwhile, the information, communication, and financial services expenditure group experienced deflation of 0.4% (yoy).
