2024 Salary Increase for Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Employees; Highest at Rp33 Million

President Joko Widodo has increased the performance allowance (tukin) for employees of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM).

This increase is based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 50 of 2024 concerning Performance Allowances within the Kemenkop UKM. This regulation has been in effect since its enactment on April 17, 2024.

"That, in accordance with the achievements of the bureaucratic reform implementation, Kemenkop UKM has met the criteria for an adjustment of performance allowances," the regulation states.

The performance allowance is differentiated based on job class. There are at least 17 job classes within Kemenkop UKM.

The lowest performance allowance is for job class 1, at Rp2.53 million per month, up from the previous Rp1.96 million per month.

The highest is for job class 17, at Rp33.24 million per month, up from the previous Rp29.08 million per month.

Specifically for the Minister of Kemenkop UKM position, currently held by Teten Masduki, the performance allowance received is 150% of the highest allowance. Based on this calculation, Teten receives approximately Rp49.86 million per month.

This performance allowance regulation does not apply to Kemenkop UKM employees who do not hold a specific position, are temporarily dismissed, or are dismissed from their organic position.

The performance allowance is also not given to employees who are on leave without government support or are in a period of leave for retirement preparation.

With this change, the previous regulation, Perpres 92/2018 concerning Performance Allowances for Employees within Kemenkop UKM, is no longer valid.
