Indonesia's Tuesday (January 7th) Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (7/1/2025) at 13:21 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include chicken eggs, garlic bulbs, red chilies, bulk cooking oil, and premium rice.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk wheat flour, shallots, chicken meat, and skipjack tuna decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,900 (2.67%) to Rp73,160 per kg. Skipjack tuna experienced the largest price drop, falling Rp480 (1.48%) to Rp32,020 per kg.
