The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) reported that Domestic Investment (PMDN) in the first quarter of 2024 reached Rp197.1 trillion, contributing 49.1% to the total national investment realization.

During this period, East Kalimantan (Kaltim) was among the top 5 provinces with the largest PMDN value, namely Rp11.9 trillion.

Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia stated that some of the PMDN investment in Kaltim went to the Nusantara Capital City (IKN).

"Some of the PMDN in East Kalimantan is (for IKN), because we are currently under construction," said Bahlil in a press conference on the BKPM YouTube channel, Monday (29/4/2024).

Bahlil also confirmed that Royal Golden Eagle/RGE Chairman Sukanto Tanoto will invest in IKN this year, followed by investments from PT Sayap Mas Utama/Wings and PT Djarum.

"Investment permit applications have been communicated with me and the IKN Authority. It's like someone fasting; the crescent moon of investment realization is hard to see," he said.

However, the largest PMDN in the first quarter of 2024 still went to DKI Jakarta with a value of Rp35.3 trillion.

Next in line were West Java with Rp23.6 trillion in PMDN, East Java with Rp20.1 trillion, and Riau with Rp18.5 trillion.
