Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Chili Prices Up, Chicken Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (3/11/2024) at 12:15 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 11 commodities increased in price and 10 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include dried soybean (import), bulk cooking oil, granulated sugar, milkfish, and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, mackerel, simple packaged cooking oil, farmer-level corn, and garlic cloves decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili peppers saw the highest price increase of Rp5,190 (15.51%) to Rp38,660 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of broiler chicken experienced the sharpest decrease of Rp2,140 (5.58%) to Rp36,180 per kg.
