Indonesia's Thursday (December 19th) Food Prices: Chili Prices Rise, Cooking Oil Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 2:26 PM WIB, out of 21 commodities, 15 commodities increased in price and 4 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include red chilies, bulk wheat flour, garlic bulbs, pure beef, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, shallots, and milkfish decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp710 (1.96%) to Rp36,890 per kg. The price of skipjack tuna saw the sharpest decrease, dropping by Rp100 (0.31%) to Rp31,760 per kg.
