Sumatra Barat Food Prices, Sunday (July 28th): Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (28/7/2024) at 14.37 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), bulk cooking oil, red chilies, SPHP rice, and pure beef.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, broiler chicken, premium rice, mackerel fish, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp8,720 (18.48%) to Rp55,900 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of garlic cloves saw the steepest decrease, dropping Rp580 (1.5%) to Rp38,120 per kg.
