Current Indonesian Food Prices: Salt and Chicken Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (1/10/2024) at 08.01 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include granulated sugar, simple packaged cooking oil, farmer-level corn, fine iodized salt, and milkfish.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as premium rice, red chilies, skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, and SPHP rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of mackerel experienced the highest increase of Rp2,430 (6.55%) to Rp39,550 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red chilies saw the steepest decrease of Rp1,860 (4.2%) to Rp42,400 per kg.

7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp31,610 per kg (down 0.22%)
8. Curly Red Chilies: Rp30,330 per kg (down 3.62%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,740 per kg (up 0.88%)
10. Red Onion: Rp28,030 per kg (up 0.36%)
