Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Onions Up, Chilies Down (Sunday, January 14, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Sunday (14/1/2024) at 10:22 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, shallots, garlic bulbs, premium rice, and farmer-level corn.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as granulated sugar, bulk wheat flour, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), milkfish, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn experienced the highest price increase of Rp1,000 (12.5%) to Rp9,000 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili saw the lowest price decrease of Rp3,040 (5.89%) to Rp48,570 per kg.
