The 2023 current price Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of Batang Hari Regency reached Rp25.45 trillion. This represents a 3.7% growth compared to the previous year's Rp24.3 trillion.
Compared to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the economic growth in this region is significantly higher. At the end of 2020, post-COVID, growth was recorded at a decrease of 0.43%.
According to BPS (Statistics Indonesia) publications, with a total population of 308,750, the GRDP per capita in this region is recorded at Rp81,380,000/capita/year. Nationally, this ranks 102nd.
Of the 17 sectors driving economic activity in this regency, the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector is the leading contributor.
The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector in Batang Hari Regency is the mainstay sector, contributing the largest share to the 2023 GRDP with a value of Rp10.34 trillion. This represents a 5.53% growth compared to the previous year's Rp9.24 trillion.
Following this, the mining and quarrying sector experienced negative growth of -1.75%, reaching Rp4.86 trillion, while the manufacturing industry grew by 5.72% to Rp2.4 trillion.
Finally, rounding out the top five GRDP contributors in Batang Hari Regency is the construction sector with a value of Rp1.24 trillion. According to BPS, this sector achieved 4.33% growth over the past year, up from the previous year's Rp1.15 trillion.

In terms of distribution, the main sector contributing the largest growth to the GRDP in Batang Hari Regency is the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector, with a contribution of 36.27%. The other top five sectors are mining and quarrying, manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, and construction.
The sectors with the smallest distribution are other services, accommodation and food service activities, corporate services, water supply, waste management, waste and recycling, and electricity and gas supply.
