Current Food Prices in Jakarta: Chili Prices Rise, Onion Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in DKI Jakarta today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (1/5/2024) at 14:25 WIB, out of 19 commodities, 10 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include packaged cooking oil, broiler chicken, medium-grain rice, milkfish, and red chilies.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, dry soybeans (import), bulk wheat flour, pure beef, and shallots decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chilies experienced the highest price increase, up by Rp4,580 (8.48%) to Rp58,570 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry soybeans (import) decreased the most, down by Rp930 (7.19%) to Rp12,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 19 food commodities in DKI Jakarta according to Bapanas as of May 1, 2024, at 14:25 WIB.

9. Mackerel: Rp37,130 per kg (up 4.53%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,730 per kg (down 0.62%)
