Latest Food Prices in South Sumatra: Sugar and Onion Prices Rise

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Saturday (19/10/2024) at 08.28 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 14 commodities increased and 7 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include pure beef, broiler chicken, curly red chilies, packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), and mackerel.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as iodized fine salt, premium rice, dry soybean (import), medium rice, and broiler eggs decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of skipjack tuna increased the most, by Rp3,210 (12.02%) to Rp29,910 per kg. The price of corn at the farmer level decreased the most sharply, by Rp430 (7.13%) to Rp5,600 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 21 food commodities in South Sumatra according to Bapanas on October 19, 2024, at 08.28 WIB.

9. Broiler Eggs: Rp25,200 per kg (down 3.85%)
10. Curly Red Chili: Rp23,710 per kg (up 5.61%)
