Indonesian Rupiah Exchange Rate Weakens to Rp 14,882 per US Dollar (Monday, August 29, 2022)

As of 10:43 WIB this morning, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market is traded at Rp 14,882 per US dollar on Monday, August 29, 2022. This exchange rate weakened by 0.43% compared to the previous day's closing, which was traded at Rp 14,818 per US dollar. Today's trading of the rupiah exchange rate is expected to move in the range of 14882 - 14897.

As shown on investing.com, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has been under pressure, weakening by 0.31% in a week. Compared to 30 days ago, however, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has strengthened by 0.99%.

Nevertheless, for a one-year data range, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market has actually decreased (strengthened). In the last year, the previous highest record reached Rp 15,030 per US dollar.

For the January-August 2022 period, the rupiah exchange rate in the spot market continued to strengthen, moving -0.89% compared to the condition a month ago, which was at Rp 15,015 per US dollar.

The current rupiah exchange rate follows most regional currencies that are weakening against the US dollar.

This morning, according to several major currencies monitored by Bank Indonesia, the South Korean won weakened by 2.54 points (+0.19%) to KRW 1,348.53 per US dollar, the Japanese yen strengthened by 0.12 points (-0.08%), the Singapore dollar weakened (+0.09%), the euro strengthened by 0.0001 points (-0.01%), and the Chinese yuan weakened by 0.01 points (+0.10%).
