Sri Mulyani: Most Voluntary Tax Disclosers Are Employees and Traders

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani stated that 37,453 individuals had participated in the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS) by April 17, 2022. A majority, or 45%, of these participants were employees.

Furthermore, 34.1% of these tax disclosure volunteers came from the wholesale and retail trade sector. "The majority of these (tax disclosure volunteers) are employees and wholesale and retail traders," Sri said in a press conference on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

Next, 8.8% of the tax disclosure volunteers came from other individual services. Then, 7% came from other sectors.

Another 3.3% came from the manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, only 1.8% of the tax disclosure volunteers came from professional services.

In total, the net assets declared in the program reached Rp65.28 trillion. This comprised domestic asset declarations and repatriation totaling Rp56.13 trillion, and foreign asset declarations of Rp4.97 trillion.

Next, the amount of income tax (PPh) received from these asset declarations reached Rp6.65 trillion. The amount of investment received from these asset declarations was Rp4.17 trillion.

Based on taxpayer category, the majority of asset declarations were submitted by taxpayers with assets ranging from Rp1 billion to Rp10 billion. This amounted to 15,186 taxpayers.

This was followed by taxpayers with assets worth Rp10 billion to Rp100 billion, totaling 12,301 taxpayers. Meanwhile, only seven taxpayers with assets exceeding Rp10 trillion participated in the program.
