Russia's Military Ranked 3rd Strongest Among 26 Influential Asian Nations

According to the *Lowy Institute Asia Power Index 2021*, the United States (US) has the strongest military among the influential countries in the Asian region.

The US ranked first out of 26 countries, with a score of 91.7 out of 100. China ranked second with a score of 66.8, and Russia ranked third with a score of 51.6.

The Lowy Institute measured the military strength of 26 countries, comprising major countries in Asia and several countries from other continents deemed to have a strong influence in Asia, such as the United States, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The index calculates military strength through various aspects, including defense spending, troop numbers, and the quantity and power of weapons possessed by each country.

Here is a complete list of the top 10 countries with the largest military strength among the 26 influential countries in Asia:

6. North Korea: score 27.3
7. Japan: score 26.2

9. Pakistan: score 25.3

The Lowy Institute assessed Indonesia's military strength at 13th place, with a score of 14.8 out of 100.

Indonesia's ranking remained the same as the previous year. However, Indonesia's score decreased compared to 2020, which was 16.3.
