Sumatera Barat Food Price Update Today: Chili Prices Up, Egg Prices Down (Tuesday, January 16, 2024)

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Tuesday (16/1/2024) at 09.21 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 11 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include dry soybean (import), bulk wheat flour, mackerel, skipjack tuna, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, farmer-level corn, shallots, pure beef, and broiler chicken have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Red chili prices surged the highest by Rp29,950 (74.78%) to Rp70,000 per kg. Farmer-level corn prices decreased the most by Rp720 (10.29%) to Rp6,280 per kg.

6. Garlic Bulb: Rp34,690 per kg (down 4.38%)
7. Broiler Chicken: Rp30,230 per kg (down 2.7%)
8. Milkfish: Rp30,170 per kg (down 6.68%)
9. Shallot: Rp29,180 per kg (down 4.33%)
10. Chicken Eggs: Rp26,480 per kg (down 5.02%)
11. Fine Iodized Salt: Rp17,430 per kg (up 7.06%)
12. Premium Rice: Rp16,940 per kg (up 1.56%)
