Today's Food Prices in West Sumatra: Prices of Sugar, Beef, and Chili Peppers Increase

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (February 13, 2025) at 14:59 WIB, out of 23 commodities, 13 commodities increased in price and 9 commodities decreased.

Commodities that increased in price include iodized fine salt, packaged wheat flour, red chilies, Minyakita, and granulated sugar.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as chicken eggs, SPHP rice, packaged cooking oil, farmer-level corn, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Large red chilies saw the highest price increase, jumping Rp1,333 (2.84%) to Rp48,333 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the sharpest price drop, falling Rp144 (2.35%) to Rp5,994 per kg.
