Bandung Regency Residents Spend Rp548.39 Per Capita Per Week on Crackers

The average expenditure of people in Bandung Regency for purchasing crackers in 2023 was Rp548.39 per capita per week. This figure surged compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp371.19 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, whether from purchases, gifts, or self-production, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is categorized into food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household needs only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to others.

Expenditure for food consumption is calculated weekly, while non-food consumption is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

The four largest expenditures of residents for other food groups in Bandung Regency, in descending order, were spent on instant noodles (Rp3,295.36 per capita per week), crackers (Rp548.39 per capita per week), baby porridge (Rp117.76 per capita per week), and the lowest was spent on others (Rp38.17 per capita per week).

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) publication, the average per capita expenditure in this regency reached Rp1.4 million per capita per month in March 2023. This figure increased by 19.66% compared to March 2022, which was Rp1.17 million per capita per month.

Based on region, the highest expenditure for purchasing crackers was in Sumenep Regency and the lowest in Pegunungan Bintang Regency. Bandung Regency's cracker expenditure ranked 155th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing crackers is Rp252.5 per capita per week.
