Indonesia's Daily Food Prices: Salt Up, Chilies Down

The prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) price panel on Wednesday (22/5/2024) at 13:38 WIB, out of 20 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 15 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are milkfish, farmer-level corn, simple packaged cooking oil, mackerel, and iodized fine salt.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), shallots, medium rice, chicken eggs, and pure beef have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish prices surged the highest by Rp240 (0.73%) to Rp33,330 per kg. Meanwhile, red chili prices decreased the least by Rp370 (0.83%) to Rp44,010 per kg.
