Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Salt Prices Rise, Chicken Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be higher than yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Saturday (21/12/2024) at 08.04 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 9 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include mackerel, iodized fine salt, milkfish, simple packaged cooking oil, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk).

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as shallots, broiler chicken, pure beef, dry soybean (import), and premium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Milkfish prices surged the highest by Rp18,010 (41.25%) to Rp61,670 per kg. Broiler chicken prices fell the most sharply by Rp7,110 (19.42%) to Rp29,500 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on December 21, 2024, at 08.04 WIB.

2. Milkfish: Rp61,670 per kg (up 41.25%)

4. Shallot Bulbs: Rp39,330 per kg (down 1.43%)
5. Curly Red Chili: Rp35,000 per kg (down 5.2%)
6. Red Onion: Rp34,670 per kg (up 12.2%)
7. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (down 17.15%)
8. Broiler Chicken: Rp29,500 per kg (down 19.42%)
9. Chicken Eggs: Rp28,520 per kg (down 3.26%)
10. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp21,000 per liter (up 22.09%)
11. Iodized Fine Salt: Rp20,000 per kg (up 29.12%)
12. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp20,000 per liter (up 8.11%)
13. Sugar: Rp19,000 per kg (up 6.62%)
14. Premium Rice: Rp15,420 per kg (down 9.93%)
