Mining and quarrying in East Halmahera Regency is the mainstay sector, contributing the largest share to the 2023 GRDP with a value of Rp2.39 trillion. This represents a 74.33% growth compared to the previous year's Rp1.52 trillion.
The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector grew by 3.13% to Rp838.03 billion, while the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector contributed Rp556.7 billion (0.9%).
The fifth largest contributing sector is construction, with a GRDP of Rp430.75 billion. This sector grew by 6.3% compared to the previous year's Rp385.84 billion.
