Indonesia's State Budget Deficit Reaches Rp 452 Trillion in September 2021

The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded a State Budget (APBN) deficit of Rp 452 trillion in September 2021. This is equivalent to 2.74% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The September 2021 APBN deficit was 33.7% lower than the same period the previous year. In September 2020, the APBN deficit was recorded at Rp 681.4 trillion.

This situation occurred due to state revenue realization being lower than state expenditure. State revenue realization was recorded at Rp 1,354.8 trillion until last month, a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year, which was Rp 1,160 trillion.

Specifically, state revenue from tax receipts amounted to Rp 850.1 trillion. Customs and excise revenue realization was Rp 182.9 trillion. Then, non-tax state revenue (PNBP) realization was Rp 320.8 trillion.

Meanwhile, state expenditure was recorded at Rp 1,806.8 trillion in the first nine months of this year. This realization was down 1.9% compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp 1,841.3 trillion.

The details are: central government expenditure realization reached Rp 1,265.3 trillion. Then, transfers to regions and village funds reached Rp 541.5 trillion.

Furthermore, the primary balance experienced a deficit of Rp 198.3 trillion until September 2021. This figure is 55.6% lower compared to the same period the previous year, which was a deficit of Rp 446.5 trillion.
