Food Prices Today, January 28, in East Java: Bird's Eye Chili Rises, Red Chili Falls

The prices of several food items in East Java today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Citing data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) at 13:54 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 1 commodity increased and 6 commodities decreased.

The only commodity whose price increased was red bird's eye chili.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as Minyakita cooking oil, broiler eggs, curly red chili, large red chili, and beef hindquarter decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of red bird's eye chili saw the highest jump of Rp3,061 (6.41%) to Rp50,788 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chili fell the sharpest by Rp1,071 (3.5%) to Rp29,548 per kg.
