Top 10 Cities with the Highest National Inflation Rates in June 2023

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the national year-on-year (yoy) inflation reached 3.52% in June 2023. Meanwhile, the month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate was 0.14%.

This data is included in the report *Perkembangan Indeks Harga Konsumen Juni 2023* (Consumer Price Index Development June 2023). BPS stated that national inflation occurred due to price increases shown by the rise in almost all expenditure group indices.

So, which cities in Indonesia experienced the highest year-on-year inflation?

Of the 90 cities surveyed by BPS, Ambon, Maluku, experienced the highest inflation in Indonesia in June 2023, reaching 6.1%.

Merauke, Papua, was second with inflation of 5.91%.

This was followed by Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, and Timika, Papua, with inflation rates of 5.81% and 5.75%, respectively.

The top 10 cities with the highest national inflation rates were dominated by cities outside Java and Sumatra.
