Premium Sugar Prices in Papua Are the Highest in Indonesia (Friday, August 23, 2024)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of premium granulated sugar (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces reaching Rp 18,850 per kg as of Friday, August 23, 2024. Overall, the average this week increased compared to last week's average of Rp 18,830 per kg.

The daily price of premium granulated sugar in modern markets in Papua was the most expensive in Indonesia, with a selling price of Rp 23,000 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of premium granulated sugar in this province is higher. Previously, it was recorded at Rp 12,450 per kg.

Meanwhile, in modern markets in West Papua, premium granulated sugar was sold at Rp 22,450 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Then, in third place, the price of premium granulated sugar in Gorontalo was Rp 21,750 per kg, West Sulawesi Rp 21,000 per kg, and Central Kalimantan Rp 20,500 per kg.

Meanwhile, there are 20 provinces with premium granulated sugar sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for premium granulated sugar are Central Java, West Java, and Bengkulu.
